March 5th, 10:00-10:30

The talk we would like to give on behalf of Roche Global IT Solution Centre aims to reveal an employment market in IT for experienced scientist that decide to switch their careers from science to business. Having a couple of students under my supervision during my work at the university I remember that this kind of job opportunity is not very well recognized among people educated in life sciences, similarly as it wasn't known to me 3 years ago.

My speech would cover:
- my personal "success story" from science to IT
- what is Roche IT Solution Centre, with a focus on how it supports new drug discovery and development in Roche by providing informatics solutions to scientists.
- what skills we are looking for the role of a scientific consultant.
